When is the 2024 Sunflower Festival?
We are excited to see you again in September 2024. Our tentative dates are Friday, September 6 through Sunday, September 15. Check under our "events" section for open dates and hours.
Where is the sunflower festival located?
The sunflower festival is located at 13561 Lee Highway in Buchanan, Va. I81 exits are exit 162 and 156. There will be signs at the entrance.
The festival is held on a working farm, therefore there is no natural shade and all paths are gravel, dirt or grass. And, YES, we have bugs so bring your bug spray.
What if it storms?
If we have heavy storms we will be forced to close. We will remain open with light showers. No refunds.
Do I need tickets to enter?
YES!
Tickets will be for sale online for our sunset dinners, sunset yoga and goat yoga. All others are cash or credit at the gate. 5 and under are free.
Is this event pet-friendly?
NO.
ONLY leashed service animals with a distinguished vest or card may enter the festival.
What about parking?
Parking is managed by a parking staff and is free to festival attendees. There is a limited amount of handicap spaces near the front gate so please let the attendant know if that is needed.
Are restrooms available?
There are numerous port-a-johns around the festival area and parking lot for visitors to use.
What method of payment do vendors accept?
Every vendor is different, so come prepared! While most vendors will accept credit cards, we all know that technology isn’t always 100% dependable. Remember, cash is king! We do have an ATM on-site!
Do you allow private photography once the sunflowers have bloomed?
Yes! The field is available for photographers to rent for photos. Please email, BeaverDamSunflowers@gmail.com for more info on which days are available. You are also free to take as many pictures as you like during the festival days.
Is alcohol allowed?
NO.
Alcohol is not sold or allowed on the festival property. If found with alcohol you will be asked to leave without a refund.
Can flowers be purchased?
Flower stems are available that we cut from a selected patch and are $2.00 each as you exit the festival. If you are caught picking flowers without paying you will be asked to leave without a refund.
Can we pick our own sunflowers?
NO.
Flowers are available for purchase as you leave the event. If we see you have picked a flower it will be taken and you will be asked to leave. The sunflowers are a crop and are used to support our family when we harvest and sell them for birdseed after the festival has ended. Please respect our farm.

Is there a place to change and feed my child?
There is a "mothers only" tent where young children can be changed and fed if needed.
What if I or someone in my group need medical attention?
We have an EMS team on site during the entire festival. Please notify the nearest vendor and they can call for help.
Do you have other events during the festival?
Yes! We have events all throughout the week between our two festival weekends. Please visit our "Events" page to see a list of events and purchase tickets.
Do you accept new craft and food vendors?
Our craft and food vendor applications are available from our Facebook page and open February 1st until April 1st. We will not accept any applications outside of this timeframe.
