Due to COVID-19 and CDC recommendations our festival may look different this year. We appreciate your support and patience.
No one with a fever or symptoms of COVID-19, or known exposure to a COVID-19 case in their prior 14 days, is permitted on the property
Maintain 6 feet of social distancing
Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash and sanatize your hands
Use hand sanitizer after touching objects
Wear a face covering over your nose and mouth when in close contact with others such as when waiting in lines
Tickets are prepaid. Limited number of cash tickets at the door
NO refunds • NO reentry • NO dogs • NO drones
Due to COVID-19 this year our tickets will be sold online. There will be a limited number of cash tickets available at the door based on a first come first serve basis. As one family leaves another may enter.
9:00 am – 11:00 am, 11:15 am – 1:15 pm, 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm, 3:45 pm – 5:45 pm
Visitors will be hand marked when they enter according to their time frame and will have 2 hours to enjoy the event. If you wish to stay longer you can purchase tickets for back to back time slots. No refunds, No reentry.
When is the 2021 Sunflower Festival?
This years festival dates are September 10-19. Please check back or watch our social media site for more info on what events happen on which days.
Where is the sunflower festival located?
The sunflower festival is located on the corner of Wheatland Rd and Rt 11 in Buchanan, Va. I81 exits are exit 162 and 156. 170 Wheatland Road or 13561 Lee Highway. There will be sunflower hay bales and signs at both entrances.
The festival is held on a working farm, therefore there is no natural shade and all paths are gravel, dirt or grass. And, YES, we have bugs so bring your bug spray.
What if it storms?
If we have heavy storms we will be forced to close. We will remain open with light showers. No refunds.
Do I need tickets to enter?
Tickets will be for sale online for $7 each, 3 and up, there will be a limited number available.
There will be a very limited number of $7 cash tickets at the door, 3 and up. Cash only at the door.
Is this event pet-friendly?
ONLY leashed service animals with a distinguished vest or card may enter the festival.
What about parking?
Parking is managed by a pro parking staff and is free to festival attendees. There is a limited amount of handicap spaces near the front gate so please let the attendant know if that is needed.
Are restrooms available?
There are numerous port-a-johns around the festival area and parking lot for visitors to use.
What method of payment do vendors accept?
Every vendor is different, so come prepared! While most vendors will accept credit cards, we all know that technology isn’t always 100% dependable. Remember, cash is king!
Do you allow private photography once the sunflowers have bloomed?
Yes! There are half and full day options if photographers want to rent the fields for photos. Please email, BeaverDamSunflowers@gmail.com for more info on which days are available. You are also free to take as many pictures as you like during the festival days.
Is alcohol allowed?
Alcohol is not sold or allowed on the festival property. If found with alcohol you will be asked to leave without a refund.
Can flowers be purchased?
Flower stems are available to cut from a selected patch and are $2.00 each.
Can we pick our own sunflowers?
Flowers are available for purchase as you leave the event. If we see you have picked a flower it will be taken and you will be asked to leave. The sunflowers are our crop and are used to support our family when we harvest and sell them for birdseed after the festival has ended. Please respect our farm.
