Meet Our Founder

Candace Wickline Monaghan was born and raised on the family farm in Buchanan, in Botetourt County. Growing up my siblings and I would help on the farm with milking and calf feeding on weekends and during summer breaks. Today I manage the books and run payroll for the farm. I am an artist by trade and began drawing at a young age. I attended our local community college, (Virginia Western Community College,) and received an Associates in Communication Design. I now have my own Graphic Design and Fine Art Business that I have been running the past 12 years. I create and design printed materials such as logos, stationary packages, magazines, brochures, etc. My work on the fine arts side includes painting Hokie Bird statues for Virginia Tech, I have been blessed enough to have painted 17 thus far. I also host art camps and paint night parties around Botetourt and surrounding counties. Feel free to check out some of my work;

In 2016 I started the Beaver Dam Farm Sunflower Festival based on an idea of “having a few visitors out to the farm to see the flowers.” It has far surpassed my wildest thoughts of where it started and I am excited to grow with it into the future.

I venture into nature every chance I get rather it be hiking, exploring around the farm, fishing or hunting and greatly enjoy watching our kids play soccer.

My husband and I have been married for almost 18 years and have two amazing children Ella, 13 years old and Brennen who is 11. We are raising our family on the farm as well.
